    Blinzeln hello all...

Saw the request for a review on vbulletin.org and figured I'd sign up. I have adsense on my forum for a couple years but I've always felt I wasn't making nearly what I should- I see people with a lot less traffic claiming to bring in a lot more than I ever had... There were some days I didn't even make a single cent but had tens of thousands of impressions.

I hope to learn where I've gone wrong.

    Hello Joe D

    Welcome to AdsenseExperts.com

Did you try the placements I released on vBulletin.org?
You can find them here too in the placement forum.

I am working on optimizing my Adsense placements on vBulletin for over 5 years now.
I think I got them down quite nicely.

Try them and tell me if it worked for you. But I bet it will

    Good luck and welcome aboard

Your placements are for vbulletin 4, but I am running 3.8. I did see the code for your 2nd post ad and did my best to replicate it for 3.8 code (the HTML is completely different) I think I did a pretty decent job. I will see if there is any change in revenue over time, it's only been a couple days and there hasn't been any huge jump- but since it's for guests only and the majority of my traffic is logged in users I wasn't expecting much.

I released a lot of AdSense Mods for 3.8 too but back then I did not know what I do now
so they are not that optimized like my AdSense Integrations today.

But might be worth taking a look here: ((login for URL))

By the way, why don't you upgrade to vB4?
My traffic spiked right after the upgrade.

You are certainly in the minority of seeing traffic spike after the upgrade- the vast consensus on vbulletin.com is that traffic falls after the upgrade to 4.x... even if nothing else changes the 4.x system does not load a new page when replying to a post (like I'm doing right now) it's all happening in the original thread window. This means less pages generated and in turn less ads displayed.

That said I personally wouldn't even care about that but my 3.8 site is heavily customized and everyone likes it and those who have seen 4.x generally dislike it and no one wants me to upgrade, nor do I care to upgrade. Personally I don't ever see upgrading to 4.x in my forum's future... Will wait to see what 5.x is like or if XenForo ever becomes a serious possibility.
