SMO stands for Social Media Optimization and in short it means to optimize your website to make it as easy as possible for users to interact with it on social media sites.
This includes sharing content via RSS, likes, social bookmarks, interesting content, etc.

SEO and SMO both are the part of SEM (Search Engine Marketing). Now SEO is an organic method to increase visitors to your website. This method includes on-page, off-page optimization and PPC (Pay Per Click). SMO tactics can drive huge amounts of people to a website and can also determine whether a startup, website or idea will make it or not.
